London Road is a new-build PBSA scheme on a prominent town centre site in Brighton. Working for developer’s McLaren Property and with contractor’s HG, London Road is currently on site and comprises of 156 student rooms, with a mix of cluster and studio accommodation. WGP took on the designs post planning and are responsible for delivering a refined and elegant end product on a site with complicated construction logistics.
On the inside, WGP are taking the lead and undertaking the interior architecture from first principals. Cluster rooms and Studios employ a perforated screen that is an evolution of the room division we introduced into the studio project we undertook in Bristol, which help configure the room into a series of distinct and functional areas but without shutting off one part of the room entirely – particularly important when control of natural light is important.
London Road is due to complete in time for the autumn student intake of 2024.
